On Friday, February 13th, the “Holidays with a racket 2015” – a table tennis camp organized as one of the initiatives for active spending of winter holidays by Table Tennis Academy, supported by Children’s Sports and brand Cornilleau.
The Academy, led by, among others, Jarosław “Atom” Tomicki, has been operating in Gliwice and the Gliwice district since 2012. Over 40 participants of all ages participated in the recently concluded winter camp.
The camp took place from February 9th to 13th in Poniszowice, near Gliwice. The main goal of the trip was to engage in regular training under the guidance of experienced staff and hone their tennis skills. However, the camp participants had much more to offer. Among other activities, there was a sleigh ride and a bonfire, and at the end of the trip, a competition with prizes. Each participant also received a commemorative T-shirt. In the evenings, coaches and their players analyzed video footage and held discussions to help them learn the ins and outs of the game.
The camp participants spoke very warmly of the five days they spent together. They also noted the wonderful, almost family-like atmosphere, as well as the excellent conditions for relaxation and work. Everyone bravely endured the rigors of the long training sessions. The coaches also emphasized the high level of commitment, mutual motivation, and support from their students. The group became very close over these few days and didn’t want to leave. Immediately after the camp, some participants announced their intention to attend future camps organized by ATS.
Although this form of spending the holidays was very popular, unfortunately not everyone was able to participate due to limited space. Table Tennis Academy However, they are already inviting everyone interested to summer camps. Two camp dates are planned.
