From June 26 to July 5, 2015 in the American Fairfax took place World Uniformed Services Games. Around 12,000 police officers and firefighters from around the world gathered to compete in 61 disciplines. Among them were Poles, including Jarosław Tomicki i Dariusz Steuer, firefighters from Gliwice, who represented our country in table tennis.

Both of them, apart from playing in clubs, play in the first league BISTS Bielsko-Biała, while Steuer plays in the team Typhoon Cornilleau Ligota Swan – they run together Table Tennis Academywhich is supported by Children’s Sports i Cornilleau.
The first success came in the singles competition, where Jarosław Tomicki reached the final to face Pang Xue Jie, a top player on the Singapore senior national team. The Pole’s opponent proved superior, winning 4-2, but Jarosław Tomicki’s silver medal was also an incredible achievement. It’s worth noting that Dariusz Steuer finished fifth in the same event, which is also a very good result.

Another success came in the doubles competition, where firefighters from Gliwice competed as a pair and won the second silver medal for Poland, losing in the final to the Singaporean pair, which included Tomicki’s final opponent from the singles competition.
We are very proud of the attitude and results of our representatives. Their success confirms our belief that it is worth supporting initiatives such as Table Tennis Academy, created by true enthusiasts who not only train future champions, but also achieve further successes themselves.
