Adidas is starting a new table tennis season by signing sponsorship contracts with two players from the top 10 of the ITTF world ranking – Feng Tianwei (2nd place) and Li Jiao (10th place), and also with excellent The promising European players: Zoltan Fejer-Konnerth (58th place) and Jonathan Groth.

Since 1 January 2011, the current world and European champions have been wearing the world-famous “three-belts”: Feng Tianwei from Singapore (2nd place in the world ranking, World Team Championship) and leading Dutch player Li Jiao (10th place in the world ranking, European team championship) came to an agreement with the German sports brand. In addition to them, the contracts were also signed by: the German national team player – Zoltan Fejer-Konnerth, as well as the Danish superstar Jonathan Groth. They became new members of the Adidas Proteam. In addition, Adidas has signed contracts with the current European mixed game champion – He Sirin (Turkey), as well as with Jörg Schlichter, German champion in men’s doubles.

Adidas will present all new players during the world’s largest sports fair – ISPO in Munich, which will take place from 6 to 9 February 2011.

The fantastic Feng Tianwei from Singapore is currently ranked second in the world ranking and was one of the players who unexpectedly defeated amazing players from China during the 2010 World Cup in Moscow. The female team led by Feng Tianwei in the dramatic final defeated an excellent Chinese team. It was the first gold medal in the history of the Singapore team won at the World Cup. The 23-year-old player is now one of the most recognizable table tennis stars and a contender to win a medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

Li Jiao (10th place in the world ranking)

Although she has already turned 30, climbing the 10th place in the world ranking is its best result so far. Her many years of experience mean that she is currently the highest ranked European, right behind the Asian players. She won the European TOP-12 in 2007 and 2008. Zoltan Fejer-Konnerth (58th place in the world ranking)

Zoltan Fejer-Konnerth has been one of the leading German players for over ten years. The overclocked balls he serves, which are the most difficult to pick up, are his hallmarks. Fejer-Konnerth is a member of the French team As Pontoise Cergy.

The Dane Jonathan Groth is one of the fastest rising stars in European table tennis. He is incredibly talented in doubles, the 18-year-old made a sensational place in the final in the doubles at the European Championships in Ostrava in 2010, with his partner Kasper Sternberg. Winning the silver medal is his greatest victory so far. This talented left-handed player in the middle of the year moves to the European Masters School in Ochsenhausen, Germany, where he will prepare for the next competition under the supervision of the best coaches.
