3rd Night Table Tennis Marathon at the Silesian University of Technology

On the night of December 17th to 18th The Table Tennis Marathon took place in the sports hall of the Sports Centre at the Faculty of Environmental and Environmental Protection. This is the third tournament for ping-pong enthusiasts in the history of the Silesian University of Technology.

On the night of December 17th to 18th The Table Tennis Marathon took place in the sports hall of the Sports Centre at the Faculty of Environmental and Environmental Protection. This is the third tournament in the history of the Silesian University of Technology for ping-pong enthusiasts. A large number of night owls showed up, as many as 46, including not only Silesian University of Technology students but also university staff. After a phenomenal table tennis display by the managers and coaches, Table Tennis Academy and presenting basic game techniques and ping-pong “tricks”, finally – at 10.15 p.m. – the players could start the first tournament matches.

During the open-door tournament, the players were of varying skill levels – from absolute beginners and amateurs to professionals training daily in the third and fourth national leagues. Regardless of their skills or chosen techniques, the players competed with genuine commitment, and a friendly, sporting atmosphere prevailed in the hall.

We can also boast about our contribution to this extraordinary event, as we had the pleasure of sponsoring the event and providing the main prizes for the winners, surprise prizes raffled off during the competition, and gifts for all participants of the night marathon.

Despite the games ending around 3:00 a.m., some of the players still felt unsatisfied and would have continued to fight until the bitter end, had the awarding of trophies, diplomas, and prizes not put an end to the sporting madness half an hour later. A souvenir photo was all that was left, and the most persistent—much to the general dismay at the end of this great fun—were allowed to go home.

All that remains is for us to congratulate all the participants for their commitment to this extraordinary sporting competition. Numerous phenomenal performances were rewarded with loud cheers of appreciation, ensuring that the excitement didn’t let up for even a moment. We eagerly await next year’s edition and hope that we will once again have the honor of participating in such a positive sporting event.
